Who’s behind all this?
NearMintNFT was founded by John Hughes, a digital marketing executive with more than 25 years experience at companies like Warner Music Group, GUESS, Petco and more. But more importantly, John is a hardcore comic book fan, collecting since he was five years old! After witnessing his favorites getting taken advantage again from other NFT sellers and the publishers they worked for, he was inspired to create NearMintNFT, putting the focus on the artists where it belongs, and allowing them to earn from the sale of their art in the NFT space, while letting fans support their favorites directly! His favorite artists include Jack Kirby, Art Adams, Michael Allred and so many more. What the heck is an NFT anyway?
NFT is shorthand for non-fungible token. It’s a token, or data, stored on a digital ledger referred to as the blockchain, that officially certifies a digital asset to be unique and one-of-a-kind. Think of it as an individually numbered lithograph or boxed set! What is the blockchain?
Think of the blockchain as a type of digital ledger of transactions that can be programmed to record not just financial transactions but virtually everything of value. These transactions are organized into a series of blocks that are linked together and cannot be changed, which is the blockchain. A new block is created once verified. It means that a new pool of encrypted transactions have been added to the blockchain.
